On Saturday, July 12th, 2025, Auvious experienced an unexpected service outage in the Australia-Southeast1 region (au.auvious.video) from approximately 05:32 AM UTC until 09:52 AM UTC. This downtime was a one-off incident caused by a database maintenance operation that unintentionally affected service availability. The maintenance coincided with moderate database load, resulting in delayed data replication and system unavailability.
Auvious systems rely on timely replication of database writes across secondary nodes for data integrity. The unexpected delay in replication led to prolonged waits, making the platform temporarily inaccessible.
After consulting with MongoDB support, Auvious temporarily changed database settings to restore service quickly. On Sunday, July 13th, this change was reversed to its original configuration to ensure ongoing data protection. Additional measures have since been implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
